Diaco's Garden Nursery is opening a new location and are looking for passionate, enthusiastic and friendly team member.

This is an opportunity to work in a family-friendly environment where customer service and a genuine passion for plants are key. As a retail assistant, you will play an important role in help our customers with gardening and plant selection advice and helping create beautiful gardens

We will be offering a full-time position with opening hours from 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Sunday. If you love working with people and are dedicated to delivering excellent customer service, we want to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities

Process Sales

• Scan items through the POS System

• Collect payment

• Issue customers with a tax invoice or receipt when a sale is processed

• Arrange delivery dates and times

• Process returns and follow Diaco's policies and procedures

Process Orders

• Take customer orders (special orders, extra stock etc.)

• Collate customer in-store orders

• Prepare online orders for dispatch and pick-up

Phone Duties

• Answering, take enquiries and follow up until the query is resolved

Customer Service

• Greet customers

• Serve and help customers attend to their queries and questions

• Help solve problems

Nursery Appearance

• Keep always check out area clean and functional

• Clean and tidy products and items

• Tiding up and cutting back of plants, re-bagging products, etc

• Any other ad hoc duties as specified by the Store Manager

Required Attributes and Qualifications:

• 5+ Years working in the nursery/horticulture Industry

• Applicable horticulture or landscape design accreditation is desirable

• Retail sales background (e.g. Coles, Woolies, K-Mart, etc.)

• Experience in cashiering

• Good presentation

• Good phone etiquette

• Friendly

• Ability to interact with customers

Knowledge of plants

• Fit, healthy, able to manage moderate to heavy lifting
