General Manager

• Part-time - 0.6 FTE

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES: 

1. Maintain business operations and ensure quality BAU (Business as usual). 
2. Develop, review and supervise the delivery of programs, events, services and policies. 
3. Lead the advocacy work and draft submissions as required. 
4. Manage finances, including bookkeeping, accounting, taxation, budgeting and grants. 
5. Ensure timely and accurate reports are provided to the stakeholders. 
6. Analyse and improve the effective utilisation of information technology systems. 
7. Maintain website, social media and other IT systems. 
8. Execute the procedures required for grant/funding applications and acquittals. 
9. Manage HR, including performance, payroll, contracts, entitlements and superannuation. 
10. Lead communication strategies and manage newsletters. 
11. Liaise with stakeholders and represent MCNT as required. 
12. Perform ad hoc duties and support other staff as required. 

 Selection Criteria: 

1. Tertiary qualification/s in Management, Business Administration, Community Services, or a related field or equivalent demonstrated senior management experience. Experience with MYOB preferred. 
2. Proven experience in senior management or leadership roles, preferably within the community, not-for-profit or multicultural sector.
3. Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting and grant funding.
4. Strong understanding of governance, compliance and reporting obligations.
5. Experience managing staff, contractors and workplace performance.
6. High-level written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and advocacy.
7. Demonstrated ability to work with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.
8. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities autonomously.
9. High-level computer literacy, including MS Office and online systems.
10. Current Police Clearance and Working with Children (Ochre Card), or willingness to obtain.
11. Flexibility to work after hours and weekends when required.
12. Current driver’s licence and access to a personal vehicle.
