Job Opportunity – Remote Heavy Diesel and Light Vehicle Mechanics (FIFO / DIDO) HEX Diesel Services is currently seeking experienced and reliable mechanics to join our team working across remote Queensland (based in Normanton) on a Fly-In Fly-Out (FIFO) or Drive-In Drive-Out (DIDO) basis. Positions Available

• 1 x Heavy Diesel Mechanic

About the Role You will be working across a diverse fleet including heavy vehicles, earthmoving equipment, and light vehicles. This is a hands-on role suited to someone confident working independently in remote environments.

You will be working across a diverse fleet including: 

• Heavy Vehicles, Road train side tippers,

• Earthmoving equipment (Excavators, graders, Loaders, dozers, rollers, Moxy’s, etc)

• Light Vehicles

Key Responsibilities

• Servicing, maintenance and repairs

• Fault diagnosis across machinery

• Ensure equipment is safe and operational

• Maintain maintenance records

• Work within a remote team

• Maintain safety standards

Requirements

• Must hold a relevant mechanical trade qualification (Light Vehicle / or Heavy Diesel Mechanic)

• Current driver’s licence (essential)

• White Card (advantageous)

• Experience with trucks and earthmoving equipment

• Strong diagnostic skills

• Ability to work unsupervised

Roster Details Flexible roster options are available, including 2:1 and 3:1 rotations, with the opportunity for extended swings for those who prefer to work longer. Rosters will be tailored to suit both operational requirements and individual preferences.

Remuneration: Competitive renumeration package on offer with rates negotiated based on skills, experience and qualifications Start: Immediate Project Duration We are entering our peak operation period through to December, with consistent work available during this time. There is potential for ongoing employment beyond this period for the right candidates.
