Logistics & Infrastructure Manager

About the role

Leading KJ's Logistics and Infrastructure team, you will work closely with managers, field staff, subject matter experts, and other skilled individuals across the organisation to help deliver KJ's goals. This pivotal, diverse, and demanding role offers the opportunity to make a practical difference across the organisation. You will finesse the way KJ purchases and manages its stock, fleet, and infrastructure assets, develop modern and user-friendly systems, improve departmental documentation and processes, and take a leading role in further developing strong, respectful, and effective interdepartmental collaboration. You will report to the General Manager Corporate Services and will be based in Newman Western Australia with some travel to remote communities required.

Key responsibilities

• Every aspect of the day-to-day management of KJ's Logistics and Infrastructure needs
• Providing a responsive, reliable, and collegial service to other managers and their teams to support the effective and efficient delivery of KJ's suite of programs
• Recruiting, leading, managing, and mentoring the Logistics team
• Providing day-to-day line management support for KJ's Administration team
• Performance management, training and development, and specialist guidance for direct reports
• Complete management of KJ's portfolio of vehicles, infrastructure, and technology assets
• Development and management of the department's budget, systems, processes, documents, plans, and programs
• Leading KJ's infrastructure project management requirements
• Purchasing, procurement, and acquisition management and oversight
• Delivering all safety requirements, adherence, and implementation for the department

About you

• Experienced manager and people-leader comfortable taking ownership of complex and challenging day-to-day logistics and infrastructure matters
• Broad generalist logistics, infrastructure, service delivery, and operations knowledge
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to formulate and promote workable solutions
• Strong judgement, decisiveness, and attention to detail
• Exceptional planning and organisational skills
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite
• Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to build trusted relationships across different cultural, professional, and geographic environments
• Current manual C Class driver's licence
• Ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Check and Working with Children Check

KJ is a Martu organisation established to support Martu to look after culture and Country, strengthen communities and build a strong future for Martu people. We deliver cultural, environmental, family and social programs across the Martu communities and Newman. We are guided by Martu elders, who are some of the last Pujiman (desert-born people) in Australia with deep cultural and ecological knowledge. Martu are the traditional owners of the Martu native title determination and Karlamilyi National Park, spanning three desert bioregions and 15 million hectares.
