About the Role

As a hands-on Ranger (Parks & Gardens), you will be on the frontline of protecting, enhancing, and maintaining our beautiful parklands and public green spaces. This is a highly physical, field-based role where you will be active outdoors every single day, keeping our environments safe, healthy, and welcoming for the community.

Your day to day duties will include:

• Estate Maintenance: Operating ride-on mowers, front-end loaders, and brush cutters to maintain turf, garden beds, and public pathways.
• Arboriculture & Safety: Utilizing chainsaws for tree maintenance, clearing fallen debris, and conducting basic vegetation management.
• Chemical Application: Safely handling and applying agricultural chemicals for weed and pest control across our park networks.
• Contractor Management: Supervising external trade and maintenance contractors on-site to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and up to standard.
• Asset Inspections: Routine tracking and safety monitoring of park facilities, assets, and recreational visitor areas.
• Horticulture - Maintaining plant collections.
• Asset Management - In-house maintenance of assets.

We're looking for someone with:

• Certificate 3 in Horticulture (or equivalent industry experience).
• Chainsaw operation ticket/certification.
• Agricultural Chemical User Permit (ACUP).
• Proven experience operating ride-on mowers and front-end loaders.
• Experience monitoring and managing on-site contractors.
• Experience in managing complex irrigation systems and schedules.
• Experience in use of garden tools and equipment.
