About the role
Join our friendly Huonville team as a part-time Employment Coach, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This rewarding role is an opportunity to support people in your local community to build confidence, develop skills and achieve meaningful, sustainable employment
About us
Workskills is a proud not-for-profit that’s been helping Tasmanians find their way into meaningful work for over 40 years, and we’re still just as passionate about it today. Based across Southern Tasmania, we’re all about community, connection, and creating real opportunities for people to thrive.
What’s our mission? It’s simple (and seriously rewarding). We get to know people, help them build confidence and skills, connect them with jobs or training that make sense for them, and support them to stay there. The impact? Stronger people, stronger families, and stronger communities.
Our teams are friendly, down-to-earth, and big on great customer service. We celebrate wins (big and small), back each other, and are always looking for smarter, better ways to do what we do. Continuous improvement and positive outcomes aren’t just buzzwords here; they’re part of our everyday work.
At Workskills, your work genuinely matters. You’ll have the chance to make a real difference in the lives of Tasmanians, and that’s something we’re very proud of.
The opportunities
At Workskills, our Workforce Australia Services team is passionate about supporting people across Southern Tasmania to build confidence, prepare for work and achieve their employment goals. We’re looking for a passionate Employment Coach to join our friendly Huonville team in a part-time role, working Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in your local community while being part of a supportive and dedicated team.
You’ll manage your own caseload and work closely with participants as they progress through our structured service phases, supporting them to build their readiness for work, move into employment and achieve sustainable outcomes. Using a person-centred, strengths-based approach, you’ll get to know each participant, understand their individual goals and connect them with the right supports and opportunities to build skills, confidence and meaningful pathways into employment.
Our best Employment Coaches are friendly, organised, and comfortable juggling priorities in a fast-paced environment. They enjoy working toward goals, are driven to achieve strong performance outcomes, and take pride in meeting both individual and team targets. Most importantly, they are passionate about providing quality support and helping people achieve sustainable employment.
If you’re motivated by meaningful work, enjoy variety in your day, and want a role where you can truly make a difference, we’d love to hear from you.
