About the Opportunity Contract Length: 3-month initial contract (with possible 6-month extension) Start Date: 31/08/2026 (or ASAP)

Work Schedule: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week) Randstad is currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Information Access Specialist to join a prominent State Government agency in Perth.

In this role, you will lead the end-to-end processing of statutory information requests, driving compliance and transparency across the organization. Role Responsibilities End-to-End FOI Processing: Coordinate, manage, and process Freedom of Information (FOI) applications in accordance with statutory requirements under the Freedom of Information Act 1992 .

Decision Making & Consultation: Act as the primary decision maker for information release applications, actively liaising and consulting with internal and external stakeholders. Governance & Policy: Develop, maintain, and update policies, procedures, and governance documentation regarding FOI and information disclosure functions.

Agency Awareness: Raise organizational awareness of FOI obligations and best practices. Project Support: Support the broader Enterprise Information Management branch with key information management projects and initiatives. Travel: Occasional travel between metropolitan and regional offices may be required.

Key Selection Criteria Proven end-to-end experience coordinating and processing Freedom of Information (FOI) applications within a government or highly regulated environment. Strong legislative interpretation capabilities or relevant legal/regulatory experience (transferable legal background highly regarded).

Demonstrated experience acting as a primary decision-maker on complex statutory release matters. High-level stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills (both written and verbal). Experience in policy development, governance documentation, and driving organizational compliance.
