The Building Maintenance team manages Council buildings to ensure that they are safe, compliant, and well maintained. The team works with contractors and internal staff to deliver reliable services.

About the role

Assist with the daily management of building services, equipment, and technical infrastructure across key municipal facilities, including Cheltenham and Mentone Municipal Offices, Depots, Council Hubs, and other tenanted properties within the City of Kingston.

As a Building Management Officer based at the Cheltenham Municipal Office, you will ensure a high standard of service delivery, focusing on but not limited to HVAC, lifts, automatic doors, and other critical building systems. You will support the Senior Building Operations Officer in maintaining compliance throughout all buildings. Additionally, you will arrange programmed and reactive maintenance, and event preparations to ensure optimal service for all facility users.

Key responsibilities of this role include: 

• Support daily building operations, maintenance, and access control.
• Coordinate contractors and assist with repairs.
• Undertake building audits and action rectification of issues raised.
• Maintain meeting rooms and general facility upkeep.
• Process service requests, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Key stakeholder engagement.

What You’ll Bring

• Demonstrated experience in conducting audits and assessing compliance or building condition.  
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with staff, contractors, and community stakeholders.
