Specialist Family Violence Practitioner

About You 

You’re an experienced family violence practitioner who thrives in a dynamic and client-focused environment. You bring strong skills in risk assessment, safety planning, case management and collaborative practice, and you are committed to supporting women and children experiencing family violence. 

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or another relevant related discipline in accordance with the Mandatory Minimum Qualifications (MMQ) for specialist family violence practitioners.
• Unrestricted Victorian Driver’s Licence.
• Current Working with Children Check.
• Successful completion of a Police Record Check and, where required, an International Police Check.
• Verification of qualifications and employment history, including referee checks.
• Successful completion of pre-employment safety screening.
• Commitment to Child Safety and adherence to the Kara FVS Child Safety requirements. 
• Commitment to providing sensitive support and culturally safe practice for women and children, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children, women and children from culturally diverse backgrounds, LGBTQI+ community members, and women and children with disabilities.
• Eligibility to work in Australia.

• Full time, or part time 0.8FTE (8 days per fortnight).
