Learning Support Assistant – Preparatory School

Fixed Term Full-time contract until Term 4 2026, working from Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm

We are seeking an experienced Learning Support Assistant to provide in-class assistance in the Preparatory School for students with specific special learning needs. You will support classroom Teachers to establish an effective learning environment and to provide adjustments to learning materials to support all students in their learning experience.

Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience

• Experience working with students who have additional learning needs.
• Knowledge and experience of using 'Key Word Sign' and the positive reinforcement 'Marte Meo' method (highly desirable).
• Certificate III in Education Support (as minimum or equivalent)
• Demonstrated success in providing student support
• Creative and demonstrates initiative
• Excellent ICT skills in the classroom and for administrative tasks
• Sound administrative skills
• Current certification in Provide First Aid
• Awareness of the Privacy Act.

• Initiative and the capacity for self-direction, while at the same time contributing to the output of the larger team.
• A positive, enthusiastic team member with superior organisational skills, the ability to set goals and prioritise work, and the capacity to manage multiple, simultaneous tasks.
• An open and friendly disposition and a sense of humour.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to relate to students and parents from a range of age groups, experiences, cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
• Ability to ensure confidentiality.
