About the role
Who we are:
Physica is a values-driven, clinician-led Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy organisation built on clinical excellence, professional growth and long-term careers.
We are one of Australia’s leading musculoskeletal physiotherapy businesses, located in the Eastern suburbs of Melbourne. We have three clinics - in Ringwood, Chirnside Park and Knoxfield, alongside a standalone, fully-equipped gym - Physica Active in Ringwood.
We are an experienced team of over 30 physiotherapists with 18 post-graduate qualified APA-Titled Musculoskeletal and Sports & Exercise Physiotherapists, supported by myotherapy and Sports & Exercise scientists.
We provide advanced services across Women’s & Pelvic Health, Vestibular rehabilitation, Scoliosis management, Dance & Pre-Pointe screening and Concussion.
Our purpose and our values:
Our purpose at Physica is simply defined by 'better' - we create better health, to help people be better and build a better community.
Our values are:
We place people first
We lead
We cultivate our people
We are one team
We are committed to communication
We seek solutions
Who we are looking for:
We welcome applications from early career physiotherapists, right through to experienced physiotherapists, interested in working at our Chirnside Park location.
This role is ideal for someone who:
Is looking for a long-term professional home
Values high-quality 1:1 care
Thrives in a collaborative clinical environment
Is motivated to continually refine their clinical reasoning, skills and knowledge
Takes pride in building strong patient and referrer relationships
This is a permanent part-time role, with up to 29 hours per week, with the following shifts available:
Monday: rostered off
Tuesday: afternoon/evening shift
Wednesday: morning shift
Thursday: morning and afternoon/evening shifts available
Friday: afternoon/evening shift
Saturday: morning shift (8-1)
What a day at Physica involves:
You'll be working alongside and supported by a very experienced team in Chirnside Park, with all of our team having at least six years in the profession, with five APA Titled Physiotherapists, and a Vestibular & Women's Health physiotherapist.
Expect a varied caseload of general musculoskeletal conditions, sports injuries and pre- and post-operative rehabilitation.
All consultations are provided on a 1:1 basis.
All clinics have 40 minute initial appointments, with an option of 20- or 40-minute subsequent consults (for recent graduates, all consultations are 40 minutes).
Our patients are predominantly privately insured, with a low percentage of compensable patients.
Many of our physiotherapists choose to add variety to their day by supervising classes, ranging from Physica Active (supervised group clinical exercise), hydrotherapy, falls and balance, Stronger Bones, Youth development or the GLA:D program.
We close all our clinics between 1:00pm - 2:00pm for a dedicated team lunch break.
What success looks like at Physica:
Building and retaining a loyal patient base
Delivering thoughtful, evidence-informed care
Contributing to team learning and mentoring
Progression along our clinical and leadership pathway
Development of your clinical niche or special-interest area
Communicating professionally and effectively with patients, referrers and team members
Contributing to our team culture and supporting your colleagues
Why you should apply:
Our experience: You’ll be joining one of Australia’s leading musculoskeletal physiotherapy organisations, that has now been operating in Melbourne’s east for over 40 years.
Our culture: We love clinical autonomy – at Physica, you’ll be supported, not micromanaged. We prioritise high-quality, thoughtful care and long-term patient relationships over high-volume throughput. We value teamwork, and both professional and personal growth.
Our PD program: We provide monthly in-services to the whole clinical team, delivered by guest speakers, including Specialist Physiotherapists, orthopaedic surgeons and medical specialists and other allied health professionals. For recent graduates or those commencing private practice, we have a thorough in-house professional development program, delivered by our team of APA-Titled physiotherapists. See our Physica Graduate Program section below for more information.
Our facilities and customer service: Work in a recently renovated facility, with fully private consulting rooms and a gym space. You’ll be fully supported by our friendly, professional customer service team, who provide a great experience to our valued clients.
Our IT systems: we utilise Nookal for a cloud-based diary and clinical notes, with integrated digital exercise prescription from Physitrack. You'll have the option of using AI-assisted patient notes and letter writing. Also say goodbye to endless internal emails - we use Slack to chat and share information among our team.
Our employment: At Physica, you're a team member and an employee, not a contractor. You’ll receive commission commensurate with your level of experience and qualifications, with an Award-compliant retainer, plus Super. You’ll receive all the correct entitlements - including paid annual, personal and long service leave. We also provide you with an annual allowance to put towards external PD courses.
Our career pathway: We have a clearly-defined career pathway for our physiotherapists. You’ll have the opportunity to progress within Physica with increasing levels of experience and qualifications. Our physios have genuine opportunities to progress to leadership and management positions, developing our services, or leading teams of developing clinicians, including their personal and professional growth.
Our further educational support: Are you considering or currently undertaking further post-graduate studies in physiotherapy? Physica is for you. We encourage this, understand the commitments and will support you through your studies, allowing you flexibility for clinical placements and coursework. Many of our team members have not only walked in your shoes but now also teach at universities and on APA PD courses, or provide clinical placement supervision for post-grad students.
Our focus on family and wellbeing: Mental health support is available to all our team under our fully confidential Employee Assistance Program. Additional employer-funded paid parental leave is also provided to all team members.
More about our Physica Graduate Program:
This program is for recent graduates or those commencing private practice - alongside your peers, you’ll gain the skills, knowledge and ability to succeed in private practice over a two-year period.
Each month, our recent graduates take a deep-dive into a body region, spending a half-day together, learning and practicing as a group, led by an experienced APA-Titled physiotherapist.
Outside of this program, the learning continues, with clinical observation sessions, co-treatments and dedicated support from a clinical team leader.
Job Requirements:
You must also have a full, current AHPRA registration.
Ready to apply?
If you’re looking for a long-term, professional home where high-quality care is valued and growth is genuinely supported, we would love to hear from you. Please attach a brief cover letter and CV to your application.
