About the role

We are seeking motivated Health Care Workers to join our dedicated team at Lakeside Living Edenhope. This role involves delivering day-to-day care for residents according to their care plan and in collaboration with the resident and other members of the health care team.

As a Health Care Worker, you will play a vital role in meeting the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents. Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or Enrolled Nurse you will provide resident-focused, holistic care, adhering to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, person-centred care that supports residents' physical, emotional, and social wellbeing.
• Assist residents with daily living activities while promoting dignity, independence, and choice.
• Work under the guidance of Registered and Enrolled Nurses to provide safe and effective care.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and team members to create a supportive community environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation and comply with care standards, policies, and procedures.
• Contribute to a collaborative team culture and actively participate in ongoing learning and professional development.

Skills and Experience

• Possess a Certificate III in Individual Support or Certificate IV in Ageing Support or equivalent preferred but not essential.
• Minimum of 12 months experience working in a care giving role in a residential aged care service.
• Demonstrate the ability to provide direct consumer care that meets the individual needs of the resident and relatives.
• Demonstrate an ability to participate in the development and review of Resident Care Plans.
• Computer skills: intermediate computer skills with demonstrated ability to use computer software particularly Microsoft Office Suite
• Have the physical ability to bend, twist, crouch, squat, kneel, stand, walk, reach above shoulder height, lift, push/pull.
• Rotating across a 24/7 roster (AM, PM &night shifts)
• Successful attainment of HLTHPS006 - Assist clients with medication
• Follow Basic Food Safety Practices (HLTFSE001).
• Adaptability, initiating action, collaboration, managing work (including time management), work standards and stress tolerance.
• Demonstrated person-centred care and respectful approach to patients, visitors and staff.
