Oracle Golden Gate Database Administrator

Job Description:

As an Oracle GoldenGate Database Administrator, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, availability, and performance of our databases that utilize Oracle GoldenGate technology. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining database replication solutions to meet our business needs.

We would be using OGG for real time data replication between two disparate systems.

Key Responsibilities:

DBA with hands on experience using Oracle Golden Gate.

Experience with using the Oracle Golden Gate Microservices Architecture

Experience with installing the Oracle Golden Gate Microservices Architecture

Experience with using Oracle Golden Gate to transform CDC transaction into a JSON Canonical Message Model and vice versa

Experience with using Golden Gate Adapters such as the JMS Adapter and the Big Data Adapter

Experience with Extract/Load/Transform capabilities within Oracle Golden Gate

Develop/configure/test GG Veridata for the functional data verification between Oracle-MSSQL.

Collaboration with the data modeller and transforming the CDC by introducing the business rules into the GG code.

Install, configure, and maintain Oracle GoldenGate software across multiple environments (development, testing, production).

Design and implement database replication solutions using Oracle GoldenGate to ensure high availability, disaster recovery, and data integration.

Monitor and optimize the performance of GoldenGate replication processes, including troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.

Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and provide technical expertise in designing and implementing database solutions.

Develop and maintain documentation related to GoldenGate configurations, processes, and procedures.

Perform regular backups, restores, and recovery procedures to ensure data integrity and availability.

Implement and enforce security best practices to protect sensitive data within the GoldenGate environment.

Stay up-to-date with the latest Oracle GoldenGate features, patches, and upgrades, and make recommendations for their implementation.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 15+ years of experience working as an Oracle Database Administrator with a focus on GoldenGate.

In-depth knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate architecture, configuration, and troubleshooting.

Strong understanding of database concepts and principles, including replication, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Shell, Python) for automation and monitoring tasks.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
