Purchasing Assistant

About Us

Salon Hair Care is a third-generation, family-owned hair and beauty wholesaler supplying professional salons across South Australia. We are looking for an organised and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our team at our Edwardstown Head Office.

Working closely with our Purchasing team, you will help ensure stock is ordered, received and maintained accurately across our stores and warehouse.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately input, process, and manage purchase orders

• Maintain and update supplier records and contacts

• Liaise with suppliers regarding stock, services, deliveries, invoices, and account enquiries

• Monitor outstanding orders and delivery timeframes

• Enter and maintain new inventory items within our system

• Maintain product pricing, including promotional and supplier price changes

• Maintain supplier price lists and communicate relevant pricing updates

• Assist with stock transfers and general inventory administration

• Assist with regular stock takes, including counting, scanning, and reconciliation

• Help investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and variances

• Provide general administrative help to the Purchasing team

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in administration, purchasing, inventory or a similar role

• Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system is highly regarded

• Strong Excel skills, including formulas, VLOOKUP, and pivot tables

• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently

• Experience working with large product ranges or inventory systems would be an advantage
