The OpportunityThis is a strategically important, senior appointment positioned at the intersection of tax, technology, and transformation, with clear ownership of designing and embedding tax risk frameworks, controls, and supporting technology across a complex enterprise environment. It requires a commercially astute tax professional with a proven track record of delivering large-scale initiatives end-to-end. Someone who can confidently step into ambiguity, bring structure, and drive outcomes rather than simply contribute to them. The role operates across highly detailed, technically demanding tax and accounting processes, and will suit someone comfortable working at depth within complex data, systems, and regulatory frameworks.
The opportunity offers significant scope to influence how tax is governed and delivered, with accountability for leading key transformation initiatives across both controls and technology. In addition to core responsibilities, there is involvement in broader project work including streams with a strong GST focus. While indirect tax exposure is advantageous, the priority is securing an individual with the experience and credibility to operate at pace, lead from the front, and make sound, pragmatic decisions in a dynamic environment.

How will you make an impact?Lead the design and implementation of tax risk frameworks and controls across the organisation, ensuring alignment with regulatory and governance requirementsTake ownership of end-to-end delivery of tax technology implementations, from scoping and design through to execution and embedding into the businessDrive tax transformation initiatives, improving processes, systems, and data integrity within the tax functionPartner with stakeholders across finance, IT, and tax to translate technical requirements into practical, scalable solutionsOversee and contribute to complex, accounting-heavy tax processes, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in data handling and reportingPlay a key role in GST-related project work, supporting implementation and optimisation of indirect tax processes and systemsIdentify gaps, risks, and inefficiencies within existing tax operations and proactively implement improvementsOperate as a senior problem solver, navigating ambiguity and delivering outcomes in dynamic or unstructured environmentsProvide hands-on support and execution where required, ensuring projects maintain momentum and deadlines are achievedBuild and maintain robust documentation, governance standards, and control frameworks to support ongoing compliance and scalability
About youTo be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following:Proven experience designing and implementing tax risk frameworks and controls within a complex corporate environmentA strong track record of delivering tax technology implementations end-to-end, with the ability to drive outcomes independentlyDeep understanding of tax and accounting processes, with confidence operating in highly detailed, technically complex environmentsDemonstrated ability to lead projects and influence stakeholders across tax, finance, and technology functionsExperience working in-house or in similarly hands-on roles, with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindsetStrong problem-solving capability, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and bring structure to unstructured environmentsA proactive, ownership-driven approach. Comfortable taking initiative and seeing work through to completion without close supervisionExcellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholdersExposure to GST or indirect tax is advantageous, particularly within transformation or systems-driven projectsA resilient and adaptable mindset, with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and operate at both strategic and operational levels
