About the Opportunity
You will lead the production of timely, high-quality data, graphs and dashboards to support cancer-related health system monitoring and performance reporting initiatives. Work collaboratively with key internal stakeholders to continually improve reporting methodologies, efficiency and delivery. Lead the operational activities of the Intelligence and Discovery Unit, coordinating a small team of analysts to deliver exploratory analyses, data insights and reporting products that support evidence-based decision-making.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in data management, analysis and reporting, including the production of high-quality, accurate and actionable reporting products such as charts, tables, dashboards and analytical reports.
• Strong analytical and technical skills, including demonstrated proficiency in R and SQL for data extraction, manipulation, analysis and reporting. Experience developing Shiny applications is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of data management and software development best practices, including coding standards, quality assurance, documentation, version control and reproducible analytical workflows.
• Tertiary qualifications in public health, epidemiology, computer science, data science, statistics, information management or a related discipline, together with a demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and apply new technologies, tools and analytical approaches.
• Well-developed stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to understand business requirements, communicate complex analytical findings clearly, and provide guidance and technical support to colleagues.

1. Describe a time you led the delivery of a complex reporting or intelligence product? What was the business problem, what analytical approach did you take, how did you ensure it was accurate, delivered on time and met stakeholder needs?

2. Tell us about a time when a stakeholder had a complex business requirement, a poorly defined analytical request or investigate an emerging issue. How did you clarify the requirement, determine the analytical approach, manage expectations, and communicate your findings.

3. Describe a situation where you had competing priorities across several projects or team members. How did you determine priorities, allocate work and manage risks?
