About the role
VACCHO is committed to supporting our staff through a hybrid work model that balances flexibility with connection.
All new staff complete a three-month training and onboarding period in the office. This ensures they receive the right support, build relationships, and develop a strong understanding of VACCHO’s systems and ways of working.
Following this period, staff may request for working from home to be considered for up to two days per week for full-time staff. This hybrid model allows us to stay collaborative and connected while also supporting our team to enjoy the benefits of flexibility and work–life balance.
Job Title: Communications Officer
Location: Collingwood, VIC (Hybrid Work Model)
Employment Type: Full-time, Maximum-term (until 30 June 2028)
Salary: $80,000 to $100,000 (depending on experience) + super + NFP Salary Packaging
About VACCHO
VACCHO is the peak representative for the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in Victoria.
We have 35 member Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations providing support to over 78,000 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the state. We lead and support Aboriginal Community Control and the broader health and social services sector to deliver transformative health and wellbeing outcomes for Aboriginal communities in Victoria. About the role
The Communications Officer will support the Executive Manager, Communications & Digital Services, and is primarily responsible for developing and implementing strategic communications plans and providing communications advice to internal and external stakeholders. More specifically they will lead the communications requirements of the cancer journey strategy including cancer screening and early detection content.
The role will also support the Communications and Digital Services team through other areas including internal communications, writing, social media, website and media when required.
