Join our Casualty team specialising in public liability and personal injury defence. You will advise on and defend public and product liability claims, provide coverage advice, and work with a diverse range of insurer and corporate clients. We are seeking candidates with defendant public liability and personal injury litigation experience who thrive in a collaborative team environment that supports innovation, work-life balance and flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Associate role suited to a lawyer with 2-4 years' PQE, ideally with experience acting for defendants in insurance litigation.
• Opportunity to join a well-established and high performing Casualty team, working closely with experienced partners and senior lawyers.
• Focus on public liability and personal injury defence, acting in complex matters for a broad range of insurer and corporate clients, advising from initial assessment through to resolution.
• Provide policy interpretation and coverage advice to insurer clients.
• Work with leading local and Lloyds of London insurers, and corporates across diverse industries including construction, hospitality, security, leisure, retail, education, property management, cleaning, and waste management.
• Gain exposure to a variety of complex claims, including worker-to-worker claims, contractual disputes, claims arising from fatalities and recreational activities, occupier and contractors’ liability.
• Contribute positively to the team and firm culture.

What will help you succeed in this role?

• Bachelor of Law degree and admission to legal practice in New South Wales
• A keen interest in insurance and civil litigation
• Proven experience working within a law firm
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work as part of a collaborative team, as well as confidently working under your own initiative
• Professionalism, conscientiousness, commitment
