Motor Mechanic / Automotive Technician

Location: COBURG NORTH, VIC

Salary: $60,001 - $80,000

Job Type: Permanent position | Full time position

• Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately
• Inspecting vehicle computer and electronic components to repair, maintain, and upgrade systems
• Conducting routine maintenance work such as replacing fluids, lubricating parts, and adjusting components aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity
• Troubleshooting issues and fixing them aiming to maximum reliability and functionality
• Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists about good vehicle usage
• Repair or replace broken of faulty parts and fix issues
• Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job
• Keep work and issue logs
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
• Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including fluid changes, tyre replacements, suspension/steering repairs, and OBD scanning
• Must be willing to upskill and keep working knowledge of current industry best practices in automotive repair
• Conduct extensive diagnostic procedures to determine the sources of customer problems and provide accurate repair recommendations
• Inspect vehicles according to the state's requirements for emissions and safety
• Conduct necessary repairs and take vehicles for test drives to verify soundness
• Maintain legible and accurate paperwork for both the customer and company records
• Clean and maintain the work environment to ensure equipment longevity and workplace safety

Performance Appraisal: Three months after the starting date, then half yearly or when required. Qualification & Requirements:

• Provide Relevant Qualifications
• Effectively use hand tools and diagnostic equipment
• Able to handle hazardous materials safely and tolerate exposure to electrical hazards
• Able to perform heavy physical labour
• Great attentions to details
• No skin allergies or reactions to grease, oil or petrol
• Flexible hours available
• 1 year of relevant work experience required for this role
• RWC license not required but is an advantage
