• Temporary (30 June 2027) Full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity
• Located in Parramatta, or other location by negotiation, hybrid working supported
• Environment Officer Class 7, salary ranges from $112,375 to $124,158 pa plus super

Join a passionate team delivering science that informs some of NSW's most significant environmental priorities. This exciting role supports the implementation of restoration science and research programs that underpin strategic initiatives including the NSW Plan for Nature, the development of a Nature Strategy, and the delivery of the Landscape Restoration Framework.

As a Project Officer, Restoration Science, you will provide technical, logistical and project coordination support to a diverse portfolio of restoration science projects and strategic environmental initiatives across NSW. This will include contract management and coordination of research partnerships between Government and external organisations.

You will work closely with scientists, project managers, contractors, university researchers and policy teams to support the delivery of research, biodiversity monitoring and restoration projects that generate evidence for environmental decision-making and landscape-scale restoration outcomes.

The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to build productive relationships with a broad range of stakeholders, and the confidence to communicate scientific information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

About You

You are a highly organised and collaborative professional with experience supporting environmental, scientific or natural resource management projects. You enjoy working across disciplines and organisations and are skilled at turning complex information into practical outcomes.

Experience working collaboratively with universities, research institutions, consultants and government agencies will be highly regarded.

Candidates who have knowledge of ecological restoration, biodiversity conservation, environmental monitoring or restoration science will bring valuable expertise to the role.

Experience managing procurement processes, contracts and external partnerships within project-based environments would also be advantageous. In addition, an understanding of environmental policy, landscape restoration initiatives and the application of science to support evidence-based conservation and land management outcomes will be highly valued.

Essential Requirements

• Experience designing and conducting conservation or restoration research.
• Knowledge of and experience with procurement processes and procedures.
• Experience working with multiple stakeholders in diverse operating environments.
• Relevant tertiary scientific qualifications and/or relevant experience.
• Driver’s license.
