Highgate House is one of Australia's most beautiful luxury retail stores, offering a curated selection of furniture, designer homewares, and a bespoke collection of Australian-made sofas, chairs, and bedheads. We are a proud third-generation, female lead family business, passionate about creating beautiful homes.

We’re looking for an exceptional Retail Manager to take ownership of our showroom and lead the team in delivering an unforgettable Highgate House experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows retail, loves beautiful spaces, has a natural eye for styling and genuinely enjoys connecting with customers. You’ll be the person who ensures the team and store is performing at its best, and every customer feels understood, inspired and confident in their choices.

What you'll be doing

• Own the day-to-day running of the showroom and ensure it consistently reflects our premium brand.

• Create warm, personal and knowledgeable customer experiences as well as providing confident furniture, interiors and decorating advice.

• Notice the details and keep the showroom looking exceptional.

• Lead our retail assistants and decorators by example. This is a role for someone who genuinely enjoys being on the floor.

• Own sales targets, KPIs, conversion and average order value.

• Turn customer enquiries and opportunities into meaningful sales.

• Identify opportunities to introduce complementary products and services.

• Provide clear, reliable reporting on store and team performance.

• Solve problems proactively.

About you

You’re an experienced Retail Manager. Ideally, you’ve worked in luxury, premium retail, furniture, homewares, interiors.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience leading a retail team.

• Strong commercial and KPI capability.

• A genuine passion and instinct for interiors, styling and visual presentation.

• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.

• Confidence managing people, including coaching, rostering and performance.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset.

• Professional presentation and discretion when working with high-value clients.

• A hands-on attitude, you’re happy to jump in, get your hands dirty and lead by example. Including unpacking, styling, dusting and assisting with deliveries when required.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office and POS systems

This is a full-time position, from Tuesday to Saturday from 9:00am - 5:30pm.
