Pharmacist - Senior (Patient Flow)

About the role

The Pharmacist – Senior (Patient Flow) delivers high-level clinical pharmacy services and leadership within the Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital. The role plays a key part in optimising patient flow through the delivery of advanced pharmacy services, including collaborative pharmacist medication prescribing, medicines management and the safe transition of care across healthcare settings.

The successful candidate will manage a complex clinical caseload, provide expert clinical advice within multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to service innovation, medication safety and quality improvement initiatives. The role also supports workforce development through clinical supervision, education and mentoring activities while promoting evidence-based practice and excellent patient outcomes.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Provide high-level clinical pharmacy services, including collaborative medication prescribing, medicines optimisation and complex medication management.
• Apply advanced clinical knowledge and professional judgement to resolve complex medication-related issues and support safe transitions of care.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to improve patient flow, enhance medicines management and achieve positive patient outcomes.
• Provide clinical supervision, mentoring and education to pharmacists, students and support staff to support workforce capability and professional development.
• Lead and contribute to quality improvement, medication safety, research and service development initiatives that advance pharmacy practice and patient care.
