Montessori East is seeking an experienced and passionate Preschool Coordinator / Educational Leader to lead our Cycle 1 (3–6 years) program.

About the Role

Working closely with the Principal and the preschool team, the Preschool Coordinator / Educational Leader supports the delivery of a high-quality, developmentally appropriate preschool program founded on Montessori philosophy and curriculum.

The role provides curriculum leadership across Cycle 1 by supporting educators to implement the planning cycle, guiding children’s learning and development in alignment with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and promoting consistent educational practice across the preschool. The Coordinator also plays an important role in partnering with families to promote an understanding of the significance of the early years and the benefits of Montessori education.

About the Role

This full-time position combines classroom teaching with dedicated leadership responsibilities.

Working closely with the Principal and the Cycle 1 team, you will support the delivery of a high-quality, developmentally appropriate preschool program founded on Montessori philosophy and aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.

The role includes three days of teaching within the classroom and two days dedicated to leadership, administration and educational coordination.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will:

· Oversee the implementation of the Montessori curriculum, aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF).

· Provide curriculum guidance and support educators to implement the cycle of planning to enhance programs and practice.

· Support the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the Learning Support Teacher and classroom lead teachers.

· Lead the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), Assessment and Rating process, and ongoing compliance with the National Quality Framework.

· Support and mentor educational staff, facilitating professional learning and promoting reflective practice.

· Manage key operational and administrative responsibilities, including staffing, admissions and preschool compliance.

· Build strong partnerships with families and promote the value of Montessori education within the broader school community.

About You

You will bring:

· A Bachelor of Early Childhood Teaching (or equivalent recognised qualification).

· An approved Montessori Diploma (AMI preferred) or a willingness to undertake Montessori training.

· Experience working within a Montessori early childhood environment.

· Demonstrated leadership, organisational and communication skills.

· A collaborative approach and commitment to reflective professional practice.

· A genuine passion for Montessori education and supporting children, educators and families.
