Learning & Development Coordinator (Fixed Term Contract)

ASC is Australia’s submarine company. We built the Royal Australian Navy’s Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats’ service lives. We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation’s conventionally armed, nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia’s history.

About the Opportunity

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the national L&D training calendar across technical, leadership, and professional development programs.
• Schedule training sessions, facilitators, rooms, and resources to support effective learning delivery.
• Provide end‑to‑end coordination of learning activities, including inductions, onboarding, and program support.
• Act as the first point of contact for L&D enquiries, delivering responsive and professional customer service.
• Maintain training records, enrolments, compliance data, and completion reporting within the LMS.
• Manage and action L&D requests through ticketing systems, ensuring service levels are met.
• Support contracts, invoicing, and financial administration related to learning activities.
• Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and external training providers.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and support continuous improvement across L&D operations.

About you

• Experience coordinating learning, training, or program activities in a complex environment.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, schedules, and stakeholder expectations effectively.
• High attention to detail, with confidence maintaining accurate records and data.
• Strong communication skills and a customer‑focused approach.
• Comfortable working with digital tools, including ticketing systems, calendars, and learning platforms.
• Well organised, reliable, and able to work independently while contributing to team outcomes.
• Experience in defence or other regulated industries is advantageous.

Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
