Registered Nurse – Cardiac Catheter Lab

Strathfield Private Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Anaesthetic Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Cath Lab team on a part-time basis.

In this role, you will provide high-quality anaesthetic nursing care across a broad range of cardiac procedures, working alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team committed to delivering exceptional patient outcomes. As an integral member of the Cath Lab team, you will play a key role in ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centred care throughout the perioperative journey.

Key Responsibilities

As an Anaesthetic Registered Nurse, you will:

• Provide safe, evidence-based nursing care throughout the perioperative phase.
• Prepare and check anaesthetic equipment, medications and monitoring systems prior to procedures.
• Assist the Anaesthetist during induction, maintenance and emergence from anaesthesia.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures, recognising and responding promptly to any changes in clinical condition.
• Deliver high-quality post-anaesthetic care, including airway management, haemodynamic monitoring and pain management.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with hospital policies, legislative requirements and best practice guidelines.
• Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical documentation.
• Promote a safe clinical environment by adhering to infection prevention, workplace health and safety, and patient safety standards.
• Participate in effective communication, clinical handovers and multidisciplinary teamwork.
• Contribute to efficient patient flow within the Cardiac Cath Lab while maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

About You

You Will Also Bring:

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
• Minimum two years' recent experience in Anaesthetic Nursing.
• Demonstrated experience in Nursing – Theatre & Recovery.
• Previous experience in a Cardiac Cath Lab or perioperative environment (desirable).
• Excellent clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Flexibility to work within a dynamic clinical environment.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.

Remuneration: 

A base hourly rate ranging from $40.24 – $56.52 + superannuation, based on experience level and qualifications, exclusive of penalties and allowances (Ramsay Health Care NSW Nurses & Midwives Enterprise Agreement – RN Years 1–8).
