About the role
The Used-Car Sales Manager is responsible for leading the dealership's vehicle sales team to achieve agreed sales volume, gross profit, customer satisfaction and compliance outcomes. You'll work closely with the General Manager, to manage daily sales operations, coach and develop sales staff, oversee the customer sales journey and support profitable, compliant vehicle transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach and manage the vehicle sales team to achieve agreed sales, gross-profit, lead-conversion and customer-satisfaction targets.
Manage the day-to-day sales operation, including lead response, appointments, test drives, follow-up, negotiations, deliveries and post-delivery customer contact.
Support sales consultants to close deals, manage trade-ins and resolve complex customer enquiries, complaints and negotiations.
Monitor sales activity, gross profit, conversion rates, stock movement, aged stock and customer feedback; implement corrective actions where required.
Ensure sales transactions, deal files, trade-in records, customer disclosures, CRM entries and delivery documentation are accurate, complete and finalised on time.
Manage and coordinate handover delivery schedules to ensure timely and seamless project completion.
Work with the General Manager on sales forecasts, pricing, stock requirements, performance reporting and dealership sales strategies.
Maintain high standards of showroom presentation, vehicle display, customer service and professional conduct.
Ensure team compliance with dealership policies, approved delegations, applicable legal requirements and workplace health and safety obligations.
Recruit, train, coach and manage sales staff in accordance with dealership procedures and lawful management directions.
About you
Proven experience and success in automotive dealership sales with a strong trackrecord of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
Strong ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop a sales team.
Strong sales, negotiation, closing, and customer relationship skills.
Commercially focused with a strong drive to achieve sales, gross profit, and customersatisfaction targets.
Ability to monitor sales performance, identify opportunities, and drive improvedresults.
Strong understanding of dealership sales processes, from lead management throughto deal closure and vehicle handover.
Ability to manage customer concerns and maintain high standards of customerservice.
Strong communication, organisation, and time-management skills.
Ability to take ownership, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
Professional presentation and a positive, results-focused attitude.
Willingness to maintain current product knowledge, industry knowledge, and regulatory requirements.
Current QLD Driver’s Licence.
Current Vehicle Salesperson’s Licence (QLD)
Demonstrated success in an automotive dealership sales environment.
