About The Role

FTI Consulting is looking for a talented professional at the Senior Director level (10 - 12 years exp) to join our Melbourne valuations and forensics team.

As a key member, you will be an integral part of this fast-growing practice. FTI Consulting has a dedicated team of valuation specialists providing valuations of businesses, intangible assets and many other types of financial assets for taxation, strategy, regulatory, M&A, accounting, and litigation purposes.

Each year we interview dozens of entrepreneurs and c-suite management, and along the way, develop deep expertise in many fascinating industries.

Our valuation specialists are also active in the valuation community including holding roles with local and international accounting and valuation bodies.

You will work directly with other senior members of the team and your professional development will be enhanced through internal and external training, on-the-job coaching and mentoring.

What You'll Do

Execution of a wide range of valuation engagements for strategy, transactions, regulatory, tax reporting, accounting, and litigation purposesSupport day-to-day engagement execution, including interaction with clients, financiers, auditors, tax advisors and legal advisersUndertake company and industry analysisParticipate in interviews with senior management of our clients to understand their businesses.Perform financial, ratio and comparable company analysisPerform valuations of shares, businesses, debt, intangible assets, and quantify loss and damage in commercial disputesCompose clear and concise written reports summarising our valuation analysisAssist with new business development activitiesDevelop financial models and reporting templatesContribute to company initiatives and team development activities

What You Will Need To Succeed

Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related disciplines. Other degrees in liberal arts or sciences are also considered if you can also demonstrate and aptitude for financial analysis.10+ years of professional experience, including experience in business and/or intangible asset valuationsStrong understanding of, and interest in, valuations and corporate financeProficiency in both written and spoken EnglishExperience in writing reportsExcellent analytical and quantitative skillsStrong knowledge of accounting principlesProficiency with the Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, an PowerPointAdaptability in a fast paced and dynamic working environmentStrong attention to detail and ability to handle and analyse complex financial informationExperience in leading small teamsAbility to work on multiple client matters at one timeAbility to work independentlyAbility to work with senior team members and the client in deadline-driven projectsStrong work ethic and integrity, and high level of professionalismWillingness to travel for work

Compensation

Minimum Pay: $160,000

Maximum Pay: $220,000

Compensation Disclosure: The compensation range reflects potential base salary for the role. Actual Compensation is determined on a wide array of relevant factors

including market considerations, business needs, and an individual's location, skills, level of experience and qualifications
