About the role
Due to our continued growth, MAK Diesel & Earthmoving is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Leading Hand Heavy Diesel Fitter to assist in leading our Townsville-based team of diesel fitters, auto electricians and apprentices.
The successful applicant will have the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently, working in a dynamic and challenging environment with a high focus on maintenance & repair work. The ideal person will be required to participate in all aspects of fleet maintenance by working within a team, promoting workplace safety standards, and ensuring the highest standards of work are conducted and maintained.
Experience in Heavy Earthmoving Machinery as well as Road Transport Vehicles is a requirement for this position as we carry out maintenance and repairs on various Makes/Models.

Key Responsibilities & Duties will include but not be limited to:
Assist in allocating work and supervising the day-to-day activity of a small team of HD fitters, auto electricians, and apprentices
Monitor & uphold workshop schedules & expectations as outlined by the service manager
Assist in Training of other Team members
Assist in compiling accurate Service Reports for maintenance & repairs
Assist in the diagnosis, rectification, and compiling of claim submissions for warranty work
Performing Repairs & Maintenance on heavy earthmoving equipment and on-highway equipment in our workshop, with some field work as required

Requirements for position:
Australian Recognised Heavy Diesel Trade Certificate
Current Manual Drivers License
Ability to be able to pass a medical
The ability to work autonomously and unsupervised
