Flinders Backpackers is searching for a charismatic human with a “can-do” attitude to join our crew.

Flinders is one of Melbourne’s largest, most award winning backpacker hostels. We host guests from all over the world - from short stays to long term trips. Flinders is known for being a sociable and central hub for exploring Melbourne and connecting with like-minded people.

About the Role:

Our front desk crew is the heart of our operations - they’re friendly and will get stuck into everything. From check-ins to chats, to being responsible for maintaining a clean, fun and comfortable environment for all of our backpackers, our reception team are true all-rounders.

Working at Flinders is a unique position where you will meet people from all walks of life. You will be able to flex your social butterfly muscles and showcase your love for Melbourne.

Role Start date from 24th of August 2026 Onwards
  

About you:

• Bit of a night owl that prefers working afternoons and overnight shifts

• Thrives in a social, high-energy environment 

• Previous experience in customer service-based roles

• A positive, will-try-anything attitude 

• Confident, multi-tasker, resourceful and loves a challenge

• Have working rights in Australia

• Ability to work 20 - 30 hours a week

• Work on a rotating roster, including overnight shifts
