As a result of continuous national growth, LAI Group is seeking Metal Fabrication Welders to join our team at our new Structural Division facility at Direk. We would like team members who are excited about the opportunity to build a stable, rewarding, and lucrative career with us.

Schedule

Full time and Casual positions available.

A 38-hour week (Monday – Friday + reasonable overtime).

Wage (Negotiable - Experience, knowledge, and ability will be taken into consideration).

The Position

A Metal Fabrication Welder at LAI Group will be required to read and interpret drawings and assist in welding sheet-metal frames for switchboards or other electrical distributors, or large structural steel frames. 

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot structures to identify and initiate repair of welding defects.

• Employ appropriate welding methods in completing metal and structural fabrications.

• Interpret technical drawings to layout the framework of a structure.

• Work with Apprentices and other Metal Fabrication Welders in completing structural projects.

The Candidate

The appropriate candidate will have the ability to understand and interpret welding specifications autonomously. They should be able to identify any issues or concerns and rectify it prior to the next stage.

The successful applicant will preferably have:

• Commitment to safe work practices

• Good attention to detail

• Problem-solving skills

• Have MIG welding experience

• Welder who has experience in the fabrication and welding of steel

Desired Competencies

• Certificate 3 in Engineering - Fabrication

• High Risk Work Licenses – LF Forklift License
