About the role
Viatec Traffic Solutions is part of the Paneltec Group, a 100% Tasmanian-owned and operated business.
We provide comprehensive traffic management services across Tasmania, including traffic planning and design, permit applications, safety and risk analysis, and the implementation of traffic management solutions.
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Traffic Management Designer to join our team at our Kings Meadows depot.
Reporting to the Traffic Manager, you will play an important role in supporting our operational teams and contributing to Viatec’s ongoing success as a leading provider of traffic management services in Tasmania.
As a Traffic Management Designer, your responsibilities will include:
Developing Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGS) and Traffic Management Plans (TMP) in accordance with applicable legislation, standards, guidelines and approval requirements.
Conducting risk assessments and hazard identification to maintain high safety standards.
Preparing, submitting and managing permit applications and approvals.
Communicating Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes to operational teams.
Liaising with local councils, government agencies, road authorities, clients and other stakeholders to obtain necessary approvals.
Providing technical advice and support to internal teams and clients regarding traffic management requirements and industry best practice.
Assisting with site inspections and compliance audits against approved Traffic Management Plans.
Maintaining accurate records relating to plans, permits, approvals and risk assessments.
Attending pre-start meetings and providing traffic management guidance when required.
Managing multiple projects and ensuring designs and applications are completed within required timeframes.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
A current driver’s licence.
A current Construction Industry White Card.
Experience preparing Traffic Management Plans and Traffic Guidance Schemes.
Proficiency in traffic management planning and design software.
A sound understanding of workplace health and safety systems, risk management and traffic management procedures.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities and deadlines.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, practical approach.
Previous experience working with local councils, road authorities, government agencies or civil construction contractors.
Experience conducting traffic management site inspections or compliance audits.
