MUST LOVE DOGS

We're after a designer with a strong personal style, someone who is genuinely quirky and comes alive when they get a weird brief. If your folio looks like it belongs at a corporate agency, this isn't the role for you.

We're an Australian pet product company selling in over 50 countries. We don't make boring pet products. Our designs pull from current fashion and pop culture and we make things people want to own for themselves, not just for their dog.

This is a varied, hands on design role. Textile pattern illustration is a big part of it, but you'll also work on product design, toy sketches, apparel, branding, packaging, and catalogue layout. You'll see your work on shelves in 50+ countries, not just on a screen.

You'll join a small creative team, four designers and two in marketing. Nothing gets lost in layers of approval here. Your ideas get made.

This role is based at our Dandenong South office, four days a week( 1 WFH), with no public transport access. You need to be able to drive here. If that doesn't work for you, please don't apply.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong digital illustration skills, this is the core of the role

• Tertiary qualification in communication or graphic design

• Illustrator should be second nature to you

• Solid working knowledge of InDesign and Photoshop

• Some industry experience, you know how to take a brief from concept to finished product

• Ability to read a brand and adapt your style to fit it

• A strong folio that proves all of the above

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

• You get genuinely excited by a weird or fun brief

• You work well under pressure and to deadlines

• You love dogs and think they deserve to be spoiled

• You take pride in your work

• You've got a sense of humour, puns, pop culture, tongue in cheek, all of it

• You take feedback well. Briefs sometimes get reworked or scrapped after a full day's work, and that's part of the job. Thick skin helps
