The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.

The Paediatric Services team aim is to support parents and children, from early childhood through to teenage year (16 years of age) to enhance family functioning and promote childhood development and parental wellbeing.

About the Role?
This position provides clinical leadership in the area of paediatric services, specifically aiming to drive access to high quality, comprehensive paediatric health services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in the urban SEQ region. We are hiring a paediatrician to work regionally across our services. We have multiple positions available across multiple sites.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Support the development and expansion of Paediatric clinics across IUIH and member ACCHS, initially funded and contracted through USOAP
• Develop and implement 'place-based' models for delivery of integrated child health, early childhood development and family support services
• Identify and utilise key datasets for the establishment of baseline information to inform development of the Strategic Plan and associated models/services
• Work closely with IUIH staff and local service providers to ensure the development of family-centred child health services is compatible with other areas of IUIH responsibility and service delivery
• Contribute to the delivery of more formalised paediatric teaching for undergraduate and post-graduate medical trainees undertaking placements across IUIH services
• Provide expert paediatric knowledge in the development and refinement of standardised regional IUIH child health protocols, reviewing drafts as they are developed
• Provide a sound evidence base for key decisions regarding the focus and direction of Mums and Bubs Service Development across the IUIH and member ACCHS network

About You?

• Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)
• APHRA Registration
• Current Medical Indemnity Insurance
• Current Disability Worker Screening Check (QLD Yellow Card)
• Bachelor of Medicine
• Specialist Paediatric qualification (FRACP)

Desirable, but not mandatory:

• Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communities
