About The Roles:
The Assistant Directors undertake high level leadership roles in the Customer Teams within the Buildings and Contracts Directorate that contribute to the ongoing leadership of the Directorate and its business units.
The Assistant Director Procurement Resourcing (permanent full-time position) provides professional procurement resourcing and project leadership and advice for complex, high-risk strategic procurement, business projects and contract management issues within the Law and Order Customer Team. The role oversees the development of complex, high-risk contracts for goods and services, information and communications technology and community services, and consults with key stakeholders to maintain positive and effective relationships with client government agencies. The role also contributes to the strategic and business planning processes of the Customer Team and manages the resources and functions of the Law and Order goods and services procurement team.
The Assistant Director Strategic Procurement Services (fixed-term full-time position available) within the General Agencies Customer Team provides specialist facilitation services for agencies undertaking strategic, complex procurement activities for significant high-risk, high-value projects. Projects can include ICT, goods and services, maintenance, community services and cooperative procurements. Services can include business planning, procurement and project management activities. Work location is subject to negotiation, with flexible working arrangements available. There is an immediate opportunity to lead a team assisting the Department of Health with a strategic ICT procurement process to procure an Electronic Medical Record solution and services.
About You:
We are seeking suitably experienced and enthusiastic individuals who have demonstrated experience with complex, high-risk, high value procurements for goods and services. This may include experience with information and communications technology, maintenance, community services and/or co-operative arrangements. This includes experience in leadership and management of project teams which may involve managing multiple work groups responsible for procurement outcomes and delivery, and providing advice on complex, high-risk strategic procurements, business projects and contract management issues.
You will be able to establish and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, communicating effectively with internal and external stakeholders with the ability to negotiate, influence and assist with strategic decision making.
You will have substantial knowledge of, and experience in, contract development and/or management, procurement systems, policy and procedures.
This position operates in the context of Leading Leaders. This means you will be required to deliver results through leaders and your teams in a single business area, and by influencing leaders in other business areas. You will add value by providing direction and developing and coaching your leaders to achieve operational objectives. You will make decisions about how services should be provided based on the resources at hand.
