Crystalbrook Sam is coming to Adelaide and we are looking for a Sous Chef who is ready to bring skill, creativity and serious culinary passion to our opening team. This is more than stepping into an established kitchen. It is an opportunity to help build one.

As Sous Chef, you will work closely with our culinary leaders to bring the food vision for Crystalbrook Sam to life, building a kitchen culture that is energetic, disciplined, collaborative and uncompromising on quality.

• Lead from the front, inspiring a high-performing culinary team through energy, presence and genuine passion for food.
• Support the delivery of exceptional dishes that celebrate quality produce, creativity and consistency.
• Help shape kitchen standards, systems and ways of working as part of our pre-opening journey.
• Coach, develop and motivate chefs at every level, creating a kitchen where people can learn, contribute and grow.
• Maintain exceptional standards across food quality, presentation, hygiene, safety and kitchen organisation.
• Work closely with culinary and operational leaders to deliver memorable guest experiences across our venues.
• Take ownership during service, keeping the kitchen focused, calm and moving when the pressure is on.
• Support menu execution, ordering, stock management, food cost control and waste reduction.
• Champion our commitment to Responsible Luxury, making thoughtful decisions around produce, waste, sustainability and the way we operate.
• Bring ideas, challenge convention and look for better ways to create exceptional food experiences.

You are a chef who genuinely loves the industry.

You understand that great kitchens are built on more than technical ability. They need trust, communication, discipline, curiosity and people who care deeply about what leaves the pass.

You will bring:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or strong senior culinary experience ready for the next step
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent recognised qualification)
• A genuine passion for produce, flavour and contemporary food experiences
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and bring people together
• Confidence operating in a fast-paced, quality-driven kitchen
• Strong organisation, communication and attention to detail
• Commercial awareness across food cost, labour, stock and waste
• A collaborative approach and willingness to roll up your sleeves when the team needs you
• The courage to contribute ideas, challenge the ordinary and continually raise the standard
