Project Officer

Wyndham Youth Aboriginal Corporation (WYAC) is a community-led organisation committed to empowering Aboriginal young people through culturally safe programs, education, leadership development, wellbeing initiatives, and community engagement.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Project Officer to support the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of projects that deliver positive outcomes for Aboriginal youth, families, and the wider Wyndham community.

This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside community members, stakeholders, government agencies, and service providers to help deliver meaningful and sustainable programs.

Key Responsibilities

The Project Officer will:

• Coordinate and support the delivery of community and youth development projects.
• Assist in planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of funded programs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, partner organisations, and stakeholders.
• Support project budgets, records management, and acquittal processes.
• Collect data and prepare reports for management, funding bodies, and the Board.
• Organise meetings, workshops, community events, and stakeholder consultations.
• Ensure projects are delivered in accordance with funding agreements, timelines, and organisational objectives.
• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and future project development.
• Promote culturally appropriate engagement and participation within all project activities.

Essential Criteria

• Bachelor's degree in Business or management
• Demonstrated experience in project coordination, administration, community development, or a similar role.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prepare reports, maintain records, and manage competing priorities.
• Experience working with Aboriginal communities and an understanding of Aboriginal culture and protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Current C Class Driver's Licence.

Desirable Criteria

• Master's degree
• Relevant qualifications in Community Development, Project Management, Business Administration, Youth Work, or a related field.
• Experience managing grant-funded programs.
• Experience working with Aboriginal youth services.
• Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.

Pay: $79,500.00 per year
