Mining Machinery Developments (MMD) designs, manufactures and supports mineral sizing solutions for mining, quarrying and recycling customers worldwide.

Our Perth team combines workshop capability, specialist technical knowledge and site-service delivery to support customers across Western Australia and the Northern Territory.

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on, trade-qualified Mechanical Site Service Supervisor to lead maintenance, shutdown and service activities on MMD mineral sizers and its associated equipment across Western Australia and the Northern Territory. This is a permanent Perth-based role, combining site leadership with workshop coordination and shutdown preparation whilst at our Malaga facility.

You will lead safe, well-planned work on customer sites, coordinate crews and resources, communicate directly with clients, and help prepare future shutdowns when working from the workshop.

Employment & Earnings

Base salary is $125,000-$135,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience and relevant tickets.

During shutdown assignments, you are paid for a minimum of 12 hours per day at your ordinary hourly rate. Based on a minimum expectation of approximately 65 site days per year, expected annual earnings are approximately $144,000-$155,000. Actual earnings will vary with site-work requirements.

This is not a permanent FIFO roster. You will be based at our Malaga workshop between shutdowns and can expect a minimum of approximately 65 days per year at mine sites, site requirements may be higher . Travel, accommodation and site arrangements are provided for site assignments.

Site Supervision & Safety

• Champion a safety-first culture to promote an incident and injury-free workplace.

• Lead pre-starts and ensure adherence to safety procedures and policies.

• Maintain site documentation including shift logs, handovers and hazard reports.

• Identify and resolve safety or operational concerns proactively.

Maintenance Coordination & Oversight

• Oversee scheduled maintenance, shutdowns and ad hoc repair works on MMD equipment.

• Manage day-to-day work activities and crew performance.

• Monitor progress and report manpower usage, shortfalls or overruns.

• Maintain the condition, inventory, and security of site tool containers.

People Leadership & Communication

• Mentor and develop team members to foster a collaborative and skilled workforce.

• Liaise effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders.

• Represent MMD’s values and technical capability in front of our customers.

• Support workshop overhaul tasks in Malaga during off-site periods as needed.

Qualifications, Experience & Travel

• Australian trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter or similar heavy-mechanical trade.

• Demonstrated site leadership experience in mining, maintenance or shutdowns, whether as a supervisor, leading hand or senior tradesperson.

• Experience with crushers, sizers, screens, conveyors or comparable heavy equipment is highly regarded; direct MMD or sizer experience is not essential.

• Valid Australian manual driver’s licence.

• Current forklift licence/ticket is essential.

• A current rigging ticket is highly desirable, but not essential.

• An S26 (Schedule 26) Statutory Supervisor qualification is highly desirable. Candidates who do not hold it must be willing to work towards the qualification.

• Comfortable travelling to mine sites for shutdown periods that may be on short notice, over weekends and sometimes public holidays and over minimum 12-hour days.

This role suits an experienced mechanical tradesperson or supervisor who wants meaningful mine-site responsibility while remaining Perth-based for the substantial majority of the year, without committing to a permanent FIFO roster.

• Permanent full-time employment

• Base salary of $125,000-$135,000 + super, depending on experience and relevant tickets, plus additional earnings for site hours worked.

• Expected annual cash earnings of approximately $144,000-$155,000, based on a minimum expectation of approximately 65 site days per year.

• During shutdown assignments, paid for a minimum of 12 hours per day at your ordinary hourly rate; superannuation is paid on ordinary base hours.
