We are excited to be working on an excellent opportunity for a corporate tax professional, to join the high-performing tax team of a major global diversified business and one of Australia’s Top 50 taxpayers. This is a business that rarely needs to recruit into its Group Tax Team, with excellent retention driven by strong salaries, genuinely interesting work and a fabulous team culture. You’ll join an experienced, high-calibre tax function with exposure to complex Australian and international tax matters, while taking ownership of the tax requirements for a portfolio of Australian businesses.
The role offers an excellent balance of hands-on corporate tax compliance, tax effect accounting, advisory and broader project work. It would suit someone with around 4–6 years’ experience looking to build their career within a sophisticated large corporate tax environment.
  

The Role
Working closely with senior members of the tax team and stakeholders across the broader business, your responsibilities will include:

• Taking responsibility for corporate income tax matters across allocated Australian businesses
• Preparing and reviewing quarterly tax effect accounting and annual income tax calculations
• Managing corporate income tax compliance requirements
• Providing tax advice and support to finance, commercial and operational stakeholders
• Researching and assisting with complex Australian tax issues
• Building strong working relationships across tax, finance and the broader business
• Assisting with tax governance, systems, policies and process improvements
• Supporting the business in responding to new tax legislation, regulations and rulings
• Assisting with international related-party transactions and associated reporting requirements
• Gaining exposure to broader areas including tax consolidation, international tax and M&A

• Around 4–6 years’ corporate tax experience gained within a Big 4 firm, large corporate environment, or a combination of both
• Strong Australian corporate income tax compliance experience
• Good tax effect accounting knowledge
• A relevant Commerce, Accounting, Finance or Law degree
• CA, CPA and/or postgraduate tax qualifications
• Strong analytical, written and communication skills
• The confidence to build relationships with stakeholders across a large and complex business
• Exposure to tax consolidation, international tax or M&A would be advantageous but is not essential
• Mining or resources experience would be well regarded, although candidates from other industries are encouraged to apply

• The business is also about to undertake a significant renovation of its Sydney CBD office, creating a fresh new working environment for the team.
• The role is predominantly office-based, with four days per week in the Sydney CBD office.
• Salary: $130,000–$160,000 incl. super + generous bonus, depending on experience.
