PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT LAWYER (2+ YEARS PAE)

Marsdens Law Group is seeking a talented lawyer to join our Local Government, Planning & Development Law team.

This is a rare opportunity to work alongside recognised leaders in planning and development law on complex, high-profile matters involving local government, planning and environmental law.

The Role

Working closely with our Partners and senior lawyers, you will:

• Appear in the NSW Land and Environment Court, at directions hearings, mediations, conciliations and hearings.

• Manage your own matters, with supervision and mentoring, including planning appeals, judicial review proceedings, compulsory acquisition, valuation and rating disputes.

• Act for local councils, developers or landowners in relation to planning, development and environmental law matters.

• Draft pleadings, affidavits, submissions and legal advice.

·         Work closely with leading barristers, expert witnesses and experienced solicitor-advocates.

• Develop advocacy and courtroom skills through regular Court appearances and client engagement.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• 2+ years post-admission experience and a current NSW practising certificate.

• Experience in planning, environmental, property or litigation law, or a strong interest in developing a career in the field.

• Strong drafting, analytical and advocacy skills.

• Excellent communication and client management skills.

• A proactive approach and strong attention to detail.
