About the role
The North Australian Pastoral Company (NAPCo) was founded in 1877 and is one of Australia's leading cattle companies, managing over 6.1 million hectares and home of Australia's First Carbon Neutral Beef - Five Founders. NAPCo employs approximately 220 staff operating across Queensland and the Northern Territory, with 13 cattle stations, a Depot in Mount Isa, a Feedlot and Farm in the Darling Downs and an office in Brisbane's CBD.
Marion Downs Station, QLD
Marion Downs Station, 1.2 million hectares located in the Queensland Channel Country, approx. 4 hours south of Mt Isa, 1 hour south of Boulia. Stunning country varying from floodplains to open rolling downs vegetation to desert country, the property includes Herbert Downs, Outstation.
The Role
Join the Marion Downs Station crew as a Station Cook providing tasty home-style meals. As the Station Cook, you will need to be organised, friendly, and most importantly, a great cook that has a passion for cooking hearty and nutritious meals. A rare opportunity to experience life on an Australian cattle station whilst positively impacting our crew providing good nutritious meals.
Day To Day Duties Include
Cooking tasty, nutritious, home-style meals for approx 25 station employees and guests on occasion Menu planningPreparing the grocery list to order and maintain adequate suppliesEnsuring variety in daily and weekly mealsEnsuring the kitchen, dining room and food storage areas are kept clean and tidyMaintaining kitchen utensils and cooking equipment in good order
Ideally the successful candidate will:
Have experience in a similar role, cooking for live-in groups and providing meals to scheduleHave a passion for producing quality, wholesome and nutritious foodBe a self-starter that has excellent time management and organisation skillsHave an understanding of food hygiene practicesHave the ability to work in a safe mannerEnjoy the unique lifestyle a remote cattle station offersBe motivated, show enthusiasm and have a great attitude towards what you do!
