At Goodstart, child safety is at the heart of everything we do. As a Child Protection Partner, you'll provide office-based support to Goodstart centres across Australia, acting as a trusted advisor on child protection, safeguarding and regulatory matters.
Working primarily via phone, email and internal systems, you'll draw on your experience in Early Childhood Education and Care to support centre teams navigating child safety concerns, mandatory reporting obligations and safeguarding incidents. You'll guide Centre Directors and leadership teams through complex situations, coordinate reporting and documentation requirements, and work closely with our Child Protection Specialists to ensure more complex matters are escalated and managed appropriately.
This is a meaningful opportunity for an experienced ECEC professional looking to transition from a centre-based leadership role into a specialist support position, where you'll make a positive impact on children's safety and wellbeing at scale.
Your Impact
Provide office-based support to centres across Australia, responding to safeguarding and child protection enquiries via phone, email and internal systems.Act as a trusted first point of contact for Centre Directors and leadership teams seeking guidance on child protection concerns, mandatory reporting requirements and safeguarding obligations.Support centres to manage safeguarding concerns, allegations and potentially harmful situations involving children in line with legislation and organisational policy.Triage matters, provide guidance and coordinate appropriate reporting, investigations, risk mitigation and follow-up actions, escalating complex matters to the Child Protection Specialist team where required.Prepare incident notifications, regulatory reporting and case documentation, ensuring accurate records are maintained.Coach and support centre leaders to confidently identify, respond to and manage child protection matters.Work closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure consistent safeguarding practices across the organisation.Manage multiple matters simultaneously while maintaining accuracy, professionalism and a strong sense of urgency.

You'll bring to the table
Experience working within the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, with a strong understanding of centre operations and leadership responsibilities.Experience in a leadership position such as Centre Director, Assistant Director, Educational Leader or similar will be highly regarded.Knowledge of mandatory reporting obligations, safeguarding practices and the Education and Care National Law and Regulations.Confidence providing advice, guidance and support to Centre Directors and leadership teams navigating sensitive situations.Strong communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence positive outcomes through phone-based and written communication.The resilience to manage complex and sometimes challenging matters professionally, remaining objective and following process without bias.Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing matters and respond with urgency in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and confidence maintaining accurate case records, documentation and regulatory reporting.A collaborative mindset, with a willingness to receive and apply both positive and constructive feedback to continuously improve.Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
