Clinical Team Lead

Who We Are:

The Wattle Tree Clinic is a private psychology practice that provides mental health services to children, adolescents, and young adults (6 – 30yrs old). We aim to fill a gap in mental health care, by creating a specialised private clinic that is built to service the unique developmental needs of young people.  

The Purpose of this Role:

Over the past five years The Wattle Tree Clinic has grown to be one of the Illawarra’s core providers of private youth mental health services. To sustain this growth and ensure our clinical team are well supported, we’re now looking to add additional clinical leadership to our team. Not only do we want our team to thrive at their jobs, but we also want to be able to provide additional pathways to registration for the next generation of psychologists.

What We Are Looking For:

We are looking for a Senior Psychologist to join our team as a Clinical Team Lead in a part-time capacity (approximately 24hrs per week, 3 days). This is a senior leadership role, who will work closely with our director and practice manager, to provide excellent clinical support to empower and develop our clinicians. This is a hybrid role entailing a small clinical caseload, supervision and teaching duties.

The Key Responsibilities of this Role:

•  Actively contribute to the positive workplace culture that embodies the Wattle team.

• Coordinate and supervise provisional psychologists on placement with our team (as a primary or secondary supervisor) as well as and clinical registrars, working closely with universities to build excellent pathways to registration.

• Oversee and manage The Wattle Tree Clinic’s Annual Learning and Teaching programme, which includes practice development days, monthly group supervision and various professional development and training sessions.  

• The provide clinical team support and supervision to all clinical team members of The Wattle Tree Clinic.

• To provide expert psychological assessment and intervention services to children, adolescents, and young adults with diagnosed and subclinical mental health disorders.

To be Eligible you need:   

• An attitude that embodies the values of The Wattle Tree Clinic AND a clear affinity with learning, mentoring and leadership.

• AHPRA registered psychologist with eligibility for Medicare provider registration.

• Current PsyBA Board-Approved Supervisor status, or willingness to obtain.

• Demonstrated experience working as a psychologist in the private practice model, including an understanding the Medicare system, referral processes, standard clinical software and contracting/employee models.

• Demonstrated excellent knowledge, skill and experience providing clinical care and case management services to children, adolescents, and young people (10yrs – 30yrs), across a range of presentations and severities.

• Demonstrated experience and skills in mentorship, supervision and leadership in an allied health context.  

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
