Registered Nurse – Clinical Governance & High Intensity Supports

About the role

This is a senior, low-volume, high-influence role. You won't be doing shift work. You'll be the clinical authority behind how our support workers are trained, assessed and supervised to deliver high intensity supports safely. The work comes in two phases: an initial block to get our clinical framework audit-ready, then ongoing oversight as we take on participants — reviewable as our participant numbers grow.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the nominated registered nurse for Module 1 (High Intensity Daily Personal Activities) registration.
• Review and finalise high intensity support policies, procedures and skills descriptors against the NDIS Practice Standards.
• Develop and deliver activity-specific competency training to support workers for each high intensity activity we register for.
• Formally assess and sign off individual worker competency, and maintain the training and competency records required for audit.
• Establish delegation, supervision and escalation pathways between support workers and clinical staff.
• Complete participant clinical assessments and contribute to care planning and risk assessment for high intensity supports.
• Review and update participant high intensity support plans as needs change.
• Provide clinical advice and escalation support to our support team.
• Participate in our NDIS certification audit, including any clinical interview with the approved quality auditor.

About you

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with no conditions relevant to this scope.
• Demonstrated experience in catheter care and complex wound management.
• Experience training, assessing or supervising unregulated workers, such as support workers or PCAs.
• Working knowledge of the NDIS Practice Standards, particularly the High Intensity Daily Personal Activities module.
• Confidence writing and reviewing clinical policies, procedures and competency assessment tools.
• Sound judgement about delegation, scope of practice and when to escalate.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain) and a Working with Children Check.
• Professional indemnity insurance, if engaging as a contractor.
