Portion Control Team Leader

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Portion Control Team Leader to join our production team. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading by example, maintaining high quality standards and driving team performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

As the Portion Control Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day leadership, training and support to the Portion Control team while ensuring production targets, quality standards and workplace safety requirements are consistently achieved.

About the role

Reporting to the Operations Manager – Portion Control, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations within the Portion Control facility and ensuring products are manufactured and packed safely, efficiently and to specification.

Your main responsibilities

• Lead, coach and support the Portion Control team.
• Allocate daily tasks to achieve production KPIs.
• Conduct quality control checks and release products for packing.
• Operate production machinery and complete changeovers as required.
• Ensure products are packaged correctly and meet quality specifications.
• Train and develop team members to build a flexible, multi-skilled workforce.
• Complete production records accurately.
• Monitor production performance and identify improvement opportunities.
• Report maintenance and safety issues promptly.
• Maintain a safe, clean and compliant work environment.

What we’re looking for

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

• Experience leading teams in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Availability to work the afternoon shift is a must
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• A commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
• The ability to motivate others and delegate effectively.
• Good literacy, numeracy and basic computer skills.
• The physical capability to perform manual handling tasks.
• Forklift Licence (High-Risk LF) is required.
