Details: An expression of interest (EOI) is sought to backfill a short-term opportunity within the Utilities Technical Regulation Team.
As the Senior Engineering Director, you will lead the electrical sector of the Utilities Technical Regulation team, which consists of a small team of highly skilled individuals responsible for regulating electricity utilities in the ACT, including distribution and transmission network service providers, solar farms, large-scale batteries, and electrical aspects of the Light Rail.
The suitable candidate should have a degree in electrical engineering, or a demonstrably relevant engineering degree with electrical expertise. Experience in a regulatory environment is highly regarded. You will also be a team player who excels at collaborating within the electrical sector, across the broader UTR team, and with stakeholders.
Note: This is a temporary opportunity from 17 September 2026 to 24 December 2026. There is no extension associated with this opportunity. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.
A merit pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill identical vacancies over the next 12 months.
