Associate Professor and Director, Academic Programs

The Clinical Teaching Programs Unit (CTP) undertakes the teaching forthe  University's MBBS program at the Southern Clinical School and prides itself on offering an holistic structured program that includes lectures and tutorial programs, patient and themed-based learning, bedside skills and 'Observe Structural Clinical Exams' (OSCE) in a supportive learning environment.

As a key member of the leadership group at Southern Clinical School, you will provide leadership in the coordination and implementation of the University MBBS curriculum, for Years III to V, at Southern Clinical School teaching sites. This will include the development, delivery and evaluation of clinical teaching at clinical sites attached to Southern Clinical School with a key role in the strategic development of units and courses.

You will:

• provide visionary leadership and foster excellence for the CTP in teaching and research

• promote a shared vision for the future direction, goals and priorities of the CTP, aligned to the broader mission of Southern Clinical School, the faculty and University

• actively engage by making a distinguished, personal contribution to the teaching of the MBBS program at Southern Clinical School

• undertake academic planning and management of CTP's operations for the Southern Clinical School

• link and represent the Southern Clinical School's teaching programs at relevant committees within the faculty and maintain relationships with Southern Health clinical sites.

This highly collaborative leadership position will suit an individual with a successful teaching and research background within a clinical teaching environment.  Alternatively, it could suit a person with a strong leadership background in a clinical setting who may be considered for an education-focused leadership appointment.
