Handy Person / Grounds Keeper

Yarralumla Play Station is not your standard venue… and this is not your standard handyman role.

We are looking for a capable, hands-on person to help maintain and improve a unique, fast-evolving space that includes The Maze, Mini Golf, Farm Friends and open parklands.

This is a role for someone who enjoys variety — not repetition. If you’re looking for “groundhog day”, this isn’t it.

About the Role
No two days will look the same. You might be fixing something one minute, building something the next, and solving a completely unexpected problem after that. Our Farm Friends will be a priority. From our goats to our chickens.

You’ll be responsible for:

• General maintenance across the venue
• Animal Open / Lock up
• Grounds upkeep and presentation
• Repairs (timber, fencing, fixtures, equipment)
• Assisting with builds and improvements
• Identifying issues before they become problems
• Supporting basic care of our animals when needed (feeding, checking water, general welfare)
• Keeping the site safe, functional and looking great

About You
You are practical, capable and take pride in your work and you must have or be able to get a WWVP certificate.

Ideally, you:

• Have a broad range of handyman or trade-based skills
• Are a true “jack of all trades”
• Are comfortable around animals and happy to assist when required
• Can think on your feet and problem-solve
• Work independently and get things done without being asked twice
• Take ownership and care about the outcome
• Enjoy working outdoors and being part of a dynamic environment

This role is flexible. Your skills, attitude and output will determine how many hours you work and how the role grows.
