About the role
Build relationships. Grow a premium Australian food brand. Make your mark.
At Salumi Australia, we're passionate about producing authentic, premium cured meats using traditional methods and quality Australian ingredients. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an energetic and relationship-driven Business Development Representative to help expand our presence across the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast.
We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Business Development Representative to join our Sales Team and drive growth throughout the Northern Rivers and Gold Coast region.
If you're someone who enjoys meeting people, building lasting business relationships and finding new opportunities, this is a role where you can genuinely make an impact.
Reporting to the National Sales Manager, you'll be responsible for managing and growing an established customer base while identifying and converting new business opportunities across your territory.
This is a hands-on role that combines business development, account management, merchandising, customer education and brand promotion. No two days are the same—you could be presenting new products to a chef, conducting an in-store tasting, meeting with a retail owner, building a merchandising display or prospecting new customers.
You'll be trusted to manage your own territory, organise your schedule and develop strategies that deliver sustainable sales growth while providing outstanding customer service.
Grow sales across retail, hospitality and wholesale customers
Develop new business opportunities and build a strong sales pipeline
Manage and grow existing customer accounts
Conduct customer visits, product tastings and product demonstrations
Introduce new products and promotional campaigns
Implement and maintain attractive merchandising displays
Monitor product presentation, stock rotation and shelf standards
Build strong relationships with business owners and key decision makers
Monitor competitor activity and identify new market opportunities
Maintain accurate CRM records and sales reporting
Work closely with Marketing, Customer Service and Production teams
Represent Salumi Australia at trade shows, food events and promotional activities
Provide operational support, including warehouse or delivery assistance, when required
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes ownership of their territory and is motivated by achieving results.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience in business development, sales or account management
Loves building genuine customer relationships
Is organised, self-motivated and results driven
Enjoys working independently while being part of a supportive team
Has excellent communication and presentation skills
Confidence presenting products and engaging with customers
Sound computer skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems
A current unrestricted driver's licence
Experience within foodservice, retail or food manufacturing would be highly regarded, but we also welcome applications from people with transferable sales experience who are passionate about food and customer service.
At Salumi Australia, we're more than just an artisan food producer — we're a passionate team committed to producing premium products and building long-term partnerships with our customers.
We offer:
The opportunity to represent a respected and growing artisan Australian food brand
A supportive, collaborative and down-to-earth team environment
Autonomy to manage your own territory and build customer relationships
Variety in your day, combining sales, merchandising, customer engagement and business development
Ongoing training and professional development
Competitive salary package with company vehicle
Opportunities to grow your career as our business continues to expand
If you're passionate about food, enjoy connecting with people and want to be part of a growing Australian business, we'd love to hear from you.
Apply now with your resume and a short cover letter telling us why you'd be a great fit for the Salumi Australia team.
