Are you a visionary fundraising leader ready to channel your strategic expertise into an incredibly rewarding cause? 

Eat Up Australia is seeking a highly experienced, well-networked Head of Philanthropy & Impact to join our Executive Team. In this role, you will use your proven fundraising track record to deliver over a third of Eat Up’s annual revenue ($1.5M+) with ambitious growth expectations. By building a three-year strategic plan and implementing key strategies across major gifts, grants and individual giving, you will directly lead the charge to ensure that no Australian child goes hungry at school. 

About Eat Up:

Eat Up is the first Australian not-for-profit to provide lunches to hungry students nationally. Volunteers and donations have been key to Eat Up's growth, helping Eat Up to grow from supporting 20 regional Victorian schools in 2014, to now reaching over 6 million lunches to 1,200+ schools in VIC, NSW, QLD, WA and NT. 

By providing nourishment to disadvantaged students at school, Eat Up aims to improve their engagement in the classroom so they can better take advantage of learning opportunities, succeed in education, and ultimately, have a brighter future.

Eat Up engages with thousands of volunteers to prepare the 40,000+ sandwiches it delivers together with nutritious snacks each week. This provides a valuable opportunity for community organisations, regional groups, workplaces, school students and individuals to contribute in a direct and meaningful way to end hunger in schools.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Revenue Growth (20% Strategy / 80% Growth Execution)

• Develop and execute a comprehensive 3-year Philanthropic Funding Strategic plan aligned with Eat Up’s evolving priorities.
• Drive a multi-stream engagement plan to meet year-on-year revenue targets and sustainably fund Eat Up's expanding programs.

Major Donor Portfolio Management

• Establish, cultivate, and scale a high-value pipeline of major gift donors, with a core focus on high-net-worth individuals.
• Personally secure major gifts (typically $25-50k+) and structure tailored multi-year giving opportunities.
• Lead highly personalised donor plans (such as "day in the van" experiences), engaging the Co-CEOs strategically as needed.

Grants, Trusts & Foundations

• Oversee and support a successful team of two Grant Writers to deliver higher-value, multi-year competitive grants.
• Support the cultivation of new granting partners and proactively communicate how their trust funding delivers on Eat Up's mission.
• Oversee the application lifecycle, reviewing compelling grant "asks" and ensuring meaningful, timely acquittals.

Individual Giving & Appeal Campaigns

• Develop a multi-year individual giving strategy to expand Eat Up's recurring and one-off donor communities.
• Design and execute impactful individual donor campaigns (e.g., EOFY and Sandwich Day awareness campaigns) using Raisely and Mailchimp in partnership with the Marketing team.
• Mine CRM data to segment, build, and maintain a healthy pipeline of mid-level donors with major gift potential.

Impact Integration & Management

• Manage and mentor the Impact Coordinator to collect, analyse, and present meaningful program impact data.
• Position impact evidence as the central driver of philanthropic narrative across presentations, grant proposals, and donor updates.
• Foster an internal culture of impact measurement, so all organisational arms can seamlessly convey Eat Up's real-world difference.

Data Management, Reporting & Leadership

• Maintain records of donor interactions and metrics within Salesforce.
• Track fundraising benchmarks, analyse donor trends, and prepare regular progress reports for the Co-CEOs.
• Collaborate closely with the Co-CEOs, Head of Operations, and Head of Marketing and Partnerships to steer the 3-year organisational path.

About You:

• Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Non-profit Management, Development, Communications, Public Relations) or equivalent professional experience.
• Experience: A minimum of 7-10 years of professional fundraising leadership and donor relations experience, with an essential background in the nonprofit sector.
• Fundraising Track Record: Proven success managing high-value donor portfolios (trusts, foundations, and major donors), securing major gifts, and translating complex organisational data into compelling donor narratives.
• People Leadership: Demonstrated ability to manage, mentor, and inspire small, high-performing teams to achieve stretch fundraising goals.
• Systems Proficiency: Strong proficiency with CRM systems (Salesforce) is required; familiarity with digital fundraising platforms (e.g., Raisely) and marketing tools (Mailchimp) is highly regarded.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills; strong strategic planning, analytical, and problem-solving capacities.
• Licensing: A valid driver's license is required for occasional local travel.
