Are you an experienced hospitality leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume venue?

Hope Island Tavern is seeking a passionate and results-driven Restaurant & Functions Manager to lead our restaurant operations and growing functions business. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring exceptional organisational skills, strong commercial awareness, and the ability to deliver outstanding guest experiences across both daily operations and large-scale events.

As a key member of the venue leadership team, you will oversee restaurant service, coordinate and execute functions, lead and develop teams, and ensure operational excellence across all areas of the business.

About the Role
Reporting to the Venue Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Managing day-to-day restaurant operations in a high-volume environment
• Leading, coaching and developing front-of-house teams to deliver exceptional service
• Planning, coordinating and executing functions and events from enquiry through to completion
• Creating and managing Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and communicating event requirements across all departments
• Ensuring seamless execution of functions, corporate events, celebrations and community events
• Driving venue sales, guest satisfaction and operational performance
• Managing labour costs, productivity and venue profitability targets
• Maintaining high standards of presentation, cleanliness and compliance
• Building strong relationships with guests, clients and suppliers
• Working closely with the kitchen, gaming and management teams to deliver outstanding venue experiences

About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager, Functions Manager or Hospitality Manager in a high-volume venue
• Proven experience planning and running functions and events
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Exceptional communication and organisational abilities
• Experience creating and managing BEOs (Banquet Event Orders)
• A genuine passion for hospitality and customer service
• The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure
• Strong understanding of labour management, financial performance and venue operations
• Availability to work a rotating roster including nights, weekends and public holidays

• SevenRooms booking and guest management platform
• High-volume food and beverage operations
• Community-focused hotels, taverns or large hospitality venues
